With both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus launch alongside the much awaited launch of Apple’s first smartwatch, we are definitely looking at a new era for Cupertino. Both the Apple’s latest smartphones are bigger, brighter and slimmer. With enlarged size comes the worries of processing and battery drain. Apple claims that the latest iPhone 6 variants have a 25% faster CPU and 50% faster graphics – insane, right! So what about battery? iPhone 6 variants

Thanks to the 20nm production method used for A8 processing chipset and a more efficient packaging, the 2,915 mAh battery for the iPhone 6 Plus and the smaller 1,810 mAh battery for the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will keep their respective devices juiced up for quite long. As seen in the below image too shared at keynote today, you both the larger iPhone 6 variants will cross a 10-hour screen time while you watch videos or browse on your smartphones. iPhone 6 variants

Here are the complete specifications of both the iPhone 6 variants:

  • An A8 processing chip with an M8 co-processor
  • Retina HD Display
  • Variants of 4.7-inches (1,334 x 750) and 5.5-inches (1,920 x 1,080)
  • 8-megapixel iSight camera with phase detection
  • FaceTime HD camera with a new sensor
  • 6.9mm and 7.1mm thick (iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus respectively)
  • Price: iPhone 6 starts at $199 with a new 128GB variant going for $399; 64GB for $299
  • iPhone 6 Plus at $299 for 16GB, $399 for 64GB and $499 for 128GB on a two year contract
  • Release date: Both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will be available from September 19th. Preorders start this 12th!
