iPhone 7 Reported To Be Completely Waterproof And Feature A Touch-Sensitive Home Button
Apple’s iPhone 7 is expected to sport some really cool features, as the tech giant always incorporates something new and different with each iteration that is released after a period of 12 months. On this occasion, we have not one, but more than few features to look forward, as you will find out shortly.
iPhone 7 Expected To Feature A Waterproof Chassis And A Touch-Sensitive Home Button
According to the latest report from Eprice, Apple’s iPhone 7 is going to be completely waterproof. This is not the first time that we have reported that the upcoming device is going to be incorporated with such a feature. The last time a feature like this was reported, details were extremely scarce, other than the fact that there was going to be a rubber seal present at the outline of the smartphone body in order to prevent water from seeping, which is kind of like what you see in GoPro waterproof housings.
Another feature that is going to be present is a touch-sensitive home button. This gives rise to the speculation that the home button in the upcoming devices might not be physical one, and will not deliver the tactile feeling to the user. Instead, it could very well be a capacitive button, with a vibration motor placed underneath in order to deliver that tactile sensation to future consumers.
A touch-sensitive home button will probably be present because the upcoming iPhone 7 is expected to slightly thinner than it predecessors. According to our previous report, iPhone 6s sports a 6.61WHr battery, and iPhone 7 will be incorporated with a 7.05WHr cell, which brings us to the grand conclusion that both smartphones have the following capacities rated in ‘mAh’.
- iPhone 6s: 1,715mAh
- iPhone 7: 1,826mAh
We’ll hardly call that an increase, but looking at the other upgrades expected to be inside the upcoming high-end smartphone, Apple believes that this will suffice. According to our previously covered reports, iPhone 7 Plus is expected to come with a 3,100mAh battery, which is huge even by Apple standards, along with an on-board storage increased to 256GB. We expect that 256GB will be nice little upgrade for those who have capped their 128GB internal memory (for a premium price obviously), Apple really seems to be discouraging users who want more battery life from the 4.7-inch model of the company’s devices.
iPhone 7 Plus has all the natural benefits to pack in a larger battery capacity, and thanks to a reported ‘bezel-less’ display, both handsets are expected to be even more appealing than their previous generation counterparts. Moreover, the upcoming products are expected to be incorporated with EMI shielding technology.
However, the biggest addition to the iPhone 7 feature list will be a dual-camera module. We have yet to see how this will benefit images and videos captured from our future devices, but that is where the crucial information during the official announcement of the smartphone will be made known to public.
