So far, all the smartphones sporting gargantuan battery packs are all been below the 10,000 mAh range, (which includes the Nubia X8 and Gionee M5) and that only means that the king of smartphones featuring the largest battery pack is yet to be officially released. Here, we have yet another Chinese smartphone maker called Oukitel, and its latest smartphone prototype, which currently does not feature a model name, possesses a massive 10,000 mAh battery pack. If this actually happens to be true, then you can ensure a week long battery life.
Oukitel Smartphone Prototype Boasts A Gigantic 10,000 mAh Battery
According to the images present at image uploading website Imgur, the handset features a black chassis and a rugged appearance; almost similar to Galaxy S6 Active. On the website, it states that the handset is a ‘5.1 Smartphone’, indicating the device could be running the Android Lollipop version 5.1. The one thing that majority of consumers would be able to tell apart by looking at the images of this smartphone and other mobile devices is the overall thickness.
Oukitel’s unnamed smartphone has an absurdly large thickness, which is sufficient evidence that the handset could be sporting a large cell. However, cramming a 10,000 mAh battery inside a mobile device is sure to spell disaster for the remaining components thanks to the amount of heat that the battery will be generating.
However, Gionee adopted a dual-battery engineering approach (though the battery’s size of 6,020 mAh instead of 10,000 mAh) in which both batteries do not work in unison, but the secondary battery starts providing the juice after the first one has been completely discharged.
Similarly, Oukitel might have adopted a dual-battery setup, which would be far more resourceful in terms of keeping the temperatures in check, but unfortunately, all of these details remain elusive. Currently, the only thing that we have to work with right now are a couple of images where a very thick form factor smartphone has been put on display.
Perhaps we will get to know more about the handset in the foreseeable future. Would you guys want to purchase a 10,000 mAh smartphone? Let us know right away.
