Here's everything you need to know about this year's Xbox Games Showcase

The Xbox Games Showcase returns to the Summer Games Fest season this year, but while the format remains the same, everything at the company has changed. With a new leadership team, led by head Asha Sharma, and the goal of reclaiming fans' goodwill following the disastrous "Everything is an Xbox" campaign, this year's showcase marked a sort of new beginning for the entire brand, returning to console exclusives.

First-Party & Xbox Game Studios Highlights

  • Gears of War: E-Day – The next entry in the series and prequel follows Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago during Emergence Day. Launches as a permanent Xbox console exclusive on October 6, 2026 on PC and Xbox Series X|S
  • Halo: Campaign Evolved – The remake of the first entry in the series will feature three completely new campaign missions revolving around Master Chief and Sergeant Johnson in Operation: METEORITE when it launches on July 28, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
  • Fable – The next look at Playground Games' reboot showcased its primary villain, Isabel, played by Hayley Atwell and confirmed a February 23, 2027 release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
  • Clockwork Revolution – InXile Entertainment's steampunk RPG will be a permanent Xbox console exclusive when it launches in Spring 2027 for PC and Xbox Series X|S.
  • State of Decay 3 – Undead Labs debuted the first official look at gameplay ahead of the game's 2027 release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
  • Senua – The next Hellblade project will droping the series' subtitle to reflect a new, action-oriented direction. Launches in 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S.
  • Spyro: A Realm Beyond – The iconic purple dragon returns for a completely new 3D platforming adventure launching in Spring 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2
  • DOOM: The Dark Ages – Revelations DLC – A full expansion to the latest entry in the series launching on July 7, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
  • Minecraft Dungeons 2 – Full gameplay reveal for the second entry in the dungeon crawler spin-off series, which launches September 29, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 – A brief look at the gameplay, focusing heavily on the game's tactical extraction sandbox experience, DMZ ahead of its October 23, 2026 release on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.
  • Xbox Series X 25 Limited Edition – To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Xbox, Microsoft announced a translucent console and controller bundle launching in November 2026.
  • Sea of Thieves: Custom Seas – A major update allowing players to create their own custom instances inside the game world, launching June 18, 2026.
  • The Elder Scrolls Online: Return of the Thieves Guild – A new questline taking players to Glenumbra, launching on July 8, 2026.
  • Age of Empires 4: Vikings & Scots Expansion – New update launching two new playable historical civilizations in Fall 2026.
  • Fallout 76: Infestations – New major free update that is available right now on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4.
  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024: World Update 22 - Arriving on July 4, 2026, the free update introduces over 30 accurately rendered national parks and monuments across 12 states, alongside a flyable Goodyear Blimp.

Partner & Global Developer Showcases

  • Persona 6 – Atlus officially announced the next entry in the series with a brief tease. Release window yet to be confirmed.
  • Persona 4 Revival – The full remake of the classic Atlus RPG launches on February 18, 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S.
  • Castlevania: Belmont's Curse – The next entry in the beloved series in years is set to launch on October 15, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
  • Metro 2039 – The next entry in the series takes players back to its brutal world when it launches in February 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
  • Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy – The next entry in Asobo Studio's series will bring Sophia to Minotaur Island on August 27, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
  • Crazy Taxi: World Tour – The classic arcade racing franchise returns inn 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
  • Magicians: The Devil's Deal – A first-person magic action title that relies heavily on card trickery with a strong BioShock-influenced atmosphere. Launches in 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S
  • Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember – Team NINJA's fast-paced series returns in Early 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
  • Where Winds Meet – Everstone Studio's massive free-to-play Wuxia open-world action RPG was shadow-dropped during the event and is available right now.
  • Valor Mortis – The excellent first-person action-soulslike from the team behind Ghostrunner, launches on September 24, 2026. on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and Day One on Xbox Game Pass.
  • Bad Magpie – A quirky adventure game following a single-winged bird obsessed with a fallen star. It launches in Early 2027 on PC and Xbox Series X|S, and will be available Day One on Xbox Game Pass.
  • Join Us – An action-packed co-op game where players will have to recruit followers, build compounds, customize cults' beliefs, and defeat enemies. Launches in March 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
  • Vivarium - Hand-drawn life-sim adventure featureing a nostalgic 1980s anime-inspired art style. Launches in 2027 for PC and Xbox Series X|S.
