Gears of War: E-Day’s PC requirements are lighter than many feared, with just 12GB RAM and an RTX 2060 listed for the minimum specs.

The Coalition is undoubtedly one of the most technically proficient Unreal Engine developers, and they've shown that again with Gears of War: E-Day. Besides the impressive games the studio previously released, The Coalition regularly helps other Xbox teams that use Epic's engine, and they were also among the first to release not one but two Unreal Engine 5 demos: Alpha Point in 2021 and The Cavern in 2022.

It certainly took a bit longer than expected to make Gears of War: E-Day, but now that it's almost here, the game looked visually stunning during the dedicated showcase that followed the Xbox Games Showcase 2026. PC fans have been worrying about the PC specs, but The Coalition has now shared the minimum and recommended system requirements, and they're not scary at all.

Admittedly, we don't know the target resolution, frame rate, or graphics preset, but these specs should be easily met by anyone who regularly plays PC games.

The studio also shared that the game features:

  • Borderless/exclusive/windowed display modes
  • Uncapped frame rates on capable hardware
  • Ultrawide support (21:9 and 32:9) for gameplay and menus
  • KBM/controller remapping
  • 4K Ultra HD with HDR10 and hardware ray-traced lighting, reflections, and shadows
  • Full optimization for handheld play (Steam Deck, Xbox Ally, and Xbox Ally X)

The developers will definitely share even more granular information about the PC version, including what kind of hardware will be needed to play at 4K and Ultra settings, as we get closer to the October 6, 2026 release (which will skip PlayStation 5, with plenty of evidence pointing to a last-minute change).
