While we await the release or an official tease of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime, now known as Galaxy Alpha (previously known as Samsung Galaxy F - yep! I am equally annoyed), one smartphone that is confirmed this fall is a new Note. Leading the phablet war for quite a few years now, Samsung may just sense the battle getting fierce with Apple making an entry in the market with its 5.5-inch Apple iPhone Air phablet. The recent rumor, with an official tweet, indicates that in an attempt to up the game in a preemptive move, Samsung might introduce Galaxy Note 4 Retina scanning capabilities later this year.
It should be noted here though that recent leaks and analysis suggest that Samsung is planning Galaxy Alpha launch with 4.7-inch display and metal design to compete against the rumored, primary 4.7-inch iPhone 6 by Apple. In what would be an amazing winter this year, we are going to see some new technologies coming our way - that is, if leaks and rumors are even a tiny bit close to what actually is happening at Cupertino and Korea.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 retina scanner:
Samsung's official Exynos Twitter account tweeted about a new Exynos 5433 chip last week. This was followed by the typical expectations that come along with a new chip and its power. Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is considered to be the lucky device to get the new chip, improved camera with an OIS module, and a perfect Super AMOLED display panel. In the list of features though, now comes Galaxy Note 4 Retina eye scanner.
As you can see in the tweet coming from Samsung Exynos team, there is an Unlock the future and an apparent eye scanner on the screen. It definitely sounds too much for the year as Samsung Galaxy S5 was introduced with a fingerprint recognition feature. However, considering how messy the Samsung vs Apple battles could be, it is only a good move by Samsung to go ahead the step as Apple was the first to launch the Touch ID fingerprint sensor feature.
While this was tweeted from an official account, the possibility of Samsung Galaxy Note 4 retina scanner is just like another rumor as we don't know how close "future" means to folks at Samsung. It could very well be a Galaxy Note 4 feature as much as some device featuring it next year.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be unveiled at IFA in September along with a rumored Gear VR headset.
