While GPUs are selling for nearly 20-30% higher than their official MSRPs, the RX 9070 GRE is the only one for below MSRP.

Graphics cards have become pricier due to RAMpocalypse, and almost every store now sells them at least 15-20% higher than their official MSRPs. The DRAM situation has made things worse for the GPU market, but you may still find a great deal once in a blue moon.

The Radeon RX 9070 GRE that launched last month was met with criticism due to the same price tag as the RX 9070. The new RDNA 4 GPU was launched in China last year, but later became available worldwide for $549. This is a high price tag, considering the GPU has 4 GB lower VRAM capacity than the RX 9070 and significantly fewer shaders, delivering noticeably lower performance. This is why the GPU failed to sell even a single unit on day one at the popular German store, Mindfactory.

In fact, the RX 9070 GRE is a competitor to the RTX 5060 Ti, and not RTX 5070, which brings 12 GB VRAM onboard. That said, it's still a good card, given you can find it at less than its MSRP. Thankfully, we can find one such card on Newegg, and it's the lowest it has gone since its launch.

It's the GIGABYTE Gaming Radeon RX 9070 GRE 12 GB GPU that is currently listed at $549 on Newegg, but the retailer mentions "EXTRA DISCOUNT AVAILABLE". When you proceed, you will be able to unlock a good $50 promo code by entering your email address. Newegg will then send you the promo code, which you can use to buy the card for just $499.

RX 9070 GRE at $499 is a great price, considering you won't be able to find the RX 9070 or the RTX 5070 for under $600 these days. Even the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB sells for over $500, making the RX 9070 GRE a more appealing choice, although it still carries the disadvantage of lower VRAM.
