Samsung to Update Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4 to Android 5.0 in November!
With iOS release hogging up most of the interwebs, there is an exciting news bit coming from the other end of the spectrum too. Looks like we are going to see Android L launch on Galaxy flagship devices sooner than earlier expected!
Android L launch in November / December:
Android L - aka Lollipop aka Android 5.0 Lemon Meringue Pie aka Android L Nestle Lion - is thought to be the biggest OS release from Google so far. Reinventing the entire design department and changing the very foundation of the mobile OS, Android L promises to be nothing but a treat. The release of this latest Google mobile OS was taken as a true innovative update as Android L not only introduces a new design language in the shape of Material Design but brings a lot more than that. Android 5.0 is being termed as a big launch as it makes a switch to Google's new ART runtime for apps, new lockscreen notifications, and top of all brings support for 64-bit processors. We are already seeing a lot of rumors about the 64-bit devices ready to be launched this fall adorned with Android L.
While HTC's Nexus 9 may be the first to sport Android L, it is the flagships like Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy Note 4 (itself sporting 64-bit Exynos processor) which will gain more attention. Latest reports indicate that Samsung Galaxy S5 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will get the Android L update by the end of November or early in December. This bit of information comes through Sammobile considered a trusted source when it comes to news related to Samsung products and updates. However, the site itself warns about not getting the hopes too high for Android L launch as the dates are never guaranteed.
We await to see what is the name that the next Android 5.0 is going to carry and of course, Android L launch on all the major devices. Getting the tingles of excitement? We too!
