Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Could Come With A Curved Screen – Could It Sport Any Useful Features?

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has already been reported to come with a Snapdragon 823, which a more powerful variant of the original Snapdragon 820, and now, we have reports that the upcoming phablet will come with unique features taken from Samsung’s smartphone feature list.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Could Feature A Pressure Sensitive Display Alongside Its Curved Edge Screen

Apart from its Mi Note 2, Xiaomi is also rumored to be working on a 4.3 inched variant of its Mi5. In this way, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer will be catering to all segments of the high-end market concerning the screen size, and this way, consumers will no longer complain over the device being too small, or too big for the average daily use. Additionally Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is expected to sport a Snapdragon 823. Currently, Snapdragon 820 came with the following custom core clock speeds:

  • Dual-core 2.15GHz Kryo
  • Dual-core 1.6GHz Kryo

Since Snapdragon 823 is expected to perform better than a Snapdragon 820, it could feature higher clock speeds but the SoC is not going to be based on a different architecture because the time taken to design an entire chipset requires lots of resources, which Qualcomm is unable to deliver due to shortage of time. Instead, it is going to be based on the same 14nm FinFET LPP process, and will feature higher clock speeds.

Nifty features like a curved screen and a pressure sensitive display could also be a part of the device’s makeup, and using its own custom MIUI, Xiaomi could employ more than its fair share of flexible features, without the need for the user to jump into the app drawer. Not only this, but Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is expected to sport a 5.7-inch screen along with a QHD display, since there obviously needs to be some form of distinction in order to separate the features of the two phones.

However, incorporating a QHD display will drain battery life at an alarming pace, so it is imperative that Xiaomi packs in a larger battery capacity underneath its hood. Mi5 came with a 3,000mAh cell, so it is highly possible that Mi Note 2 comes with a battery boasting a capacity of 3,600mAh.

4GB LPDDR4 RAM is also expected to be part of the configuration, although Xiaomi could become overzealous and place in 6GB of RAM. Additionally, a pressure sensitive display might also be present, along with 256GB of on-board storage as the maximum storage capacity. Naturally, due to all the hardware present, Xiaomi Mi Note 2 could come with a much larger retail price than Mi5, but the Chinese smartphone OEM could reduce the price of its 5.15-inch flagship in order to gain even more traction in a competitive market.
