Following its announcement last year, Konami has been pretty silent regarding Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune And Dunan Unification Wars, the collection including the HD remasters of the first two entries in their JRPG series. A release date has yet to be announced, but it seems like something on the matter may be coming soon.

As spotted by Gematsu, the collection was recently rated in Taiwan, suggesting that Konami may be gearing up for a release date announcement. No additional information was provided by the rating, but this is hardly a problem, as the original versions of these two games have been available on the market for a very long time.

Earlier this year, a listing on a French retailer suggested that Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune And Dunan Unification Wars would release in March, but that month has come and gone, and there was no sign of the game.  How much more we will have to wait to return to the series' universe remains to be seen, but it's undeniable that a little more wait won't hurt anyone, considering not too many expected Konami to bring back the series at all.

While a simple re-release of the two classic JRPGs could have been enough for most fans of the series, Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune And Dunan Unification Wars will come with plenty of improvements, such as enhanced visuals featuring pixel sprites and environments with new screen effects and shadow animations, redone character portraits and more. The two games will both receive some gameplay improvements and new quality-of-life features such as a dialogue log, auto-battle, the ability to double the speed of battles, and more.

Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune And Dunan Unification Wars launches sometime this year on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. We will keep you updated on the game's release date as soon as it is announced, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
