Aside from a release on the Windows Store, Undead Labs’ upcoming State of Decay 2 might also become available through Steam.

At least, that’s what the game’s PAX East demo seems to imply as spotted by ResetEra user ‘Chairmanchuck’. The game was streamed live from the event, and during the stream, we can clearly see that the demo tried to connect to Steam servers.

Neither Microsoft nor Undead Labs has officially confirmed the game’s release on Steam, although many have expected that this will be the case as the first game is available through Valve’s digital distribution platform as well.

State of Decay 2 is slated for a release on Xbox One and PC next month on May 22nd. The sequel was officially announced during Microsoft’s 2016 E3 press conference. The game supports Microsoft’s Xbox Play Anywhere cross-buy/play program.
