A new Beta BIOS has dropped for several 600 and 800 series AMD ASUS motherboards, offering enhanced compatibility with DDR5 modules based on CXMT chips.
ASUS Enhances CXMT Memory Compatibility With AMD 600 and 800 Series Motherboards Through Latest Beta BIOS
There have been rapid developments around CXMT memory chips, as we see various motherboard and memory vendors optimizing their platforms for reaching higher clocks. Previously, we used to see CXMT-based DDR5 memory being capped at 6000 MT/s, but now they can easily go beyond 8000 MT/s, as has been demonstrated by various motherboard vendors.
ASUS is one of those that has been successful in pushing CXMT-based DDR5 memory modules to 8400 MT/s on a B850 motherboard. MSI and Colorful also succeeded in pushing DDR5 memory past 8000 MT/s, which is a big achievement for CXMT, which is giving a good competition to the memory giants like Micron. Now, as vendors like MSI try to bring CXMT memory optimizations to Intel platforms, many others have been speeding up the optimizations on AMD platforms as well.

ASUS, being one of the major motherboard vendors, has now rolled out its first BIOS to enhance compatibility with CXMT memory. As far as we can see, ASUS has rolled out the new Beta BIOS for multiple 600 and 800 series motherboards, but the new update has yet to reach B650 and B850 chipset models. The new Beta BIOS is available for several X670 and X870, motherboards, offering "enhanced memory performance, system stability, and compatibility with CXMT memory chips".
Keep in mind that the Beta BIOS is a global release, and despite CXMT memory being currently limited to mainland China, motherboards from outside the region with the latest BIOS update should support CXMT-based DDR5 memory modules. We expect other vendors to follow the same route in the coming days as we see CXMT becoming more mainstream than ever.
