The promised Pokemon GO update – dubbed version 1.5.0 for iOS and 0.35.0 for Android – has been released by Niantic.

Latest Pokemon GO Updates Makes Team Leaders Far More Useful, Adds Bug Fixes As Well

Niantic promised yesterday that a new Pokemon GO update will be on its way with a handful of changes. Today, the company has fulfilled on that promise and has released version 1.5.0 for iOS and 0.35.0 for Android users.

The complete changelog of the update is as follows:

– Implemented Pokémon Appraisal: Trainers will now be able to learn about a Pokémon’s attack and defense capabilities from their Team Leader (Candela, Blanche, or Spark) to determine which of their Pokémon have the most potential for battle.
– Fixed a bug that kept defeated Pokémon at 1HP; these Pokémon will now return as fainted Pokémon. We’re working on rebalancing the training battle, stay tuned.

As you can see, the pretty-useless Team Leaders have become far more useful in this release. Trainers can now simply learn about a Pokemon’s attack and defense capabilities and determine which Pokemon has potential for battle. Something we’re sure many of you out there are going to dig.

Apart from that, the new Pokemon GO update is no more than a bug fix release. But, Niantic did promise that new and exciting features are on its way to Pokemon GO, something which we’re direly looking forward to.

Wrap Up

Pokemon GO is in dire need of something groundbreaking to keep interest of players at an all-time high. Unfortunately, the game saw a nosedive in terms of active users lately mainly due to the lack of new features being added. But given how Niantic is constantly working in the background to improve the game, we have high hopes things will turn around sooner rather than later.
