2019 iPhone XI Leak Adds Weight To Claims Of A Triple Camera Setup
Cupertino tech giant Apple will hold its annual developers' conference later today. The conference comes at a time when iPhone growth is slowing down, and Apple is trying to convince more users to use the company's in-house processors. These processors, might one day become capable enough to run MacBooks. However, if they're to achieve this, then Apple has to narrow the bridge between macOS and iOS, and WWDC 2019 will shed more light on these efforts. With these developments in mind, we've got a fresh leak for the 2019 iPhone XR. Take a look below for more details.
Alleged 2019 iPhone XR Cases Corroborate Earlier Leaks By Demonstrating Cutouts For Design And Hardware Upgrades
At this point in time, the consensus on the rumor mill is that Apple will add one camera lens on each of the successors to last year's iPhones. This means that the iPhone XI and XI Max will house a triple-rear camera setup, and the iPhone XI(R) will come with a dual-rear camera setup. For the former two gadgets, the additional lens will capture super-wide-angle shots, and for the latter, the new lens will allow it to achieve up to 2x optical zoom.
Today's leak suggests that Apple will also use a new design for the 2019 iPhone lineup's frame and chassis. The good folks over at 9to5Mac have received early samples of the upcoming smartphones' cases. These end up adding more weight to claims of the new cameras. They also show subtle shifts in position for the mute and volume buttons.
As you can see in the gallery above, the square cutout for the rear camera sensors is present in the cases for both the 2019 iPhone XI Max and iPhone XI(R). When last year's iPhones are put in the cases, the comparison reveals that Apple will shift positions slightly for the iPhone XI Max's volume and mute switches.
However, for the iPhone XI(R) these positions will remain unchanged. As we enter June, a variety of international sources in addition to 9to5Mac have managed to get their hands on alleged cases for the 2019 iPhone lineup. All these items show a square rear camera cutout. Once production for the smartphones kicks off in full flow, we should get lucky for more leaks. Till then, stay tuned and let us know what you think in the comments section below. We'll keep you updated on the latest.
