Well, if it needed confirmation, the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, has now confirmed that Apple has agreed to work with Intel. In this deal, Apple will leverage Intel tech to design and build its next-generation chips.

The statement from Trump comes as part of the historic turnaround that Intel has achieved under the current US administration. Trump says that we all remember "Intel Inside", an iconic marketing by Chipzilla during its peak years. But over the past few years, the technology giant faced growing competition from TSMC as semiconductor manufacturing moved away from the US to Taiwan.

Intel's days as a semiconductor hub seemed over until Pat Gelsinger reignited the Foundry division with a set goal of achieving 5 nodes in 4 years, which was completed with the introduction of 18A. Now moving forward, Intel's current CEO, Lip-Bu Tan, has made it his goal to turn Intel Foundry into a state-of-the-art facility for producing chips in America. This is why Elon Musk found confidence in 14A and Intel's technologies for his TeraFab, and others are lining up, too.

Trump highlights the NVIDIA, TeraFab, and Apple deal as part of the "Made in US" initiative. He says that Intel was worth around 100 billion dollars and is now worth 600 billion dollars. The US Government has a 10% stake in Intel, and because of that, the company has only seen growth.

No details are mentioned, but as per rumors, Apple will be leveraging Intel's 18A-P technology for its M7 chip by 2027 and 14A for its next-generation iPhone chip by 2028. Additionally, production consultations between Apple and Intel are already ongoing, with the target set for Q4 2027. It is said that Intel's 18A node still needs to reach a more efficient point in terms of performance and cost, which is currently reported to be around 30-40%.

With the upcoming 18A-P node, Intel has a better proposition for Apple, which they can depend upon and build their chips on. It will be a while before we get to see any major announcements, but Intel's stage is set for the big leagues, and its continued Foundry progress is a testament to its ability to become one of the biggest semiconductor and technology players in the world.
