An important thing that you should remember is that it will wipe your device, so I would always suggest that you back up your phone before you follow the tutorial.

  1. Go to Settings > About Phone > tap on the build number 7 times until you see a message saying 'You are now a developer!'
  2. Back to the main settings and look for Developer Options > OEM Unlock and USB Debugging and enable these.
  3. Download and install the ADB on your PC from here and be sure to do it on the desktop for easier access.
  4. Connect your Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro to your computer using a USB cable.
  5. Go to the folder where you installed the ADB and Fastboot.
  6. Open a command prompt in that folder and if you are prompted for UAC, click on Yes to allow admin access.
  7. Type the following command in the window and press enter to check if your device is connected or not.

    adb devices

  8. If the device is connected, you will get a device ID, if not, then you will need to install the Google USB drivers again and reboot your computer.
  9. Once everything is ready, run the following command.

    adb reboot bootloader

  10. Now, you will need to run the following command to unlock the bootloader.

    fastboot flashing unlock
