Latest GT7 Update Introduces Gran Turismo-Exclusive ŠKODA Vision Gran Turismo Alongside AFEELA and Chevelle

The latest free GT7 update introduces the Gran Turismo-exclusive ŠKODA Vision Gran Turismo all-electric car alongside two other vehicles, new World Circuit events, and more.

The 1.46 update is available on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 and features a fully electric concept car that was created exclusively for the game. The design of the car is a tribute to the 1957 Škoda 1100 OHC Spyder and is a fusion of the past and Skoda's Modern Solid design. The ŠKODA Vision Gran Turismo sports two 200kW electric twin motors with a combined power output of 800kW. We've included some shots of the car below.

Truth be told - Skoda has done an amazing job designing this concept car. "The roots of Škoda Motorsport go back more than 120 years, with countless successes", Skoda Auto's CEO Klaus Zellmer wrote the Skoda website. "The next step? Joining the world of e-racing by launching a stunning new virtual concept car into the world’s most successful racing game, Gran Turismo. The Škoda Vision Gran Turismo study bridges our rich heritage to our electric future and new Modern Solid design language. Our customers are explorers, and the sleek Škoda Vision Gran Turismo car is a great way to enrich their experiences while also attracting new fans to our brand.”

"This racing concept pays homage to its legendary predecessor as well as incorporating the defining features of Škoda’s Modern Solid design language, as seen in its T-shaped headlights", the article from Sony's Senior Product Manager Ken Chan reads on the official PS Blog. "What’s more, the Vision Gran Turismo showcases two distinct liveries: one reflecting the heritage of the famous Škoda 130 RS racing car from 70́s, and the other inspired by the Vision 7S concept car, which embodies Škodá's Modern Solid Design philosophy."

In addition to the Vision Gran Turismo, this free update also adds the AFEELA Prototype 2024 'mobility device' alongside the iconic Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 Sport Coupe ’70.

Also included with the update is a new Café menu as well as three new events for World Circuits, including Japanese Clubman Cup 550: Alsace – Village Reverse, American FR Challenge 550: Trial Mountain Circuit Reverse, and Vision Gran Turismo Trophy: Grand Valley – Highway 1. The update also comes with 'San Diego' as a featured curation in Scapes.

Down below you'll find a video showing off the new content included with the 1.46 update.

Gran Turismo 7 is available worldwide now for PS4 and PS5. The game was released back in 2022. Here's what we wrote about the racer in our launch review back then.

"Gran Turismo 7 is an excellent game. It looks fantastic, with features like the photo and scapes modes, making the game look eerily photo-realistic. On the track, racing is top-notch. Every car feels unique; every change in the garage and every decision on the track matters. However, it doesn't mean there aren't issues. Always online requirements have failed me numerous times and lost progress when the servers have died; this is before launch. In addition to this, there's just a looming issue of time; the game doesn't value your time with the campaign (cafe menus), having it move at a glacially slow pace at best. Also, the soundtrack is atrocious. Still, whatever faults I find, they are far outweighed by overwhelming positives."
