AMD has released its official Ryzen 7 7800X3D 3D V-Cache CPU benchmarks which show a 24% uplift over the Intel Core i9-13900K.

AMD's $449 US Ryzen 7 7800X3D 3D V-Cache CPU Demolishes Intel's Top "Core i9-13900K" Chip In Official Gaming Benchmarks

The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is going to be the true successor to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D which has been a hot gaming chip ever since it launched in retail. This CPU is going to be the ideal choice for gamers with 8 cores, 16 threads, and the same 104 MB of cache (32 MB CCD, 64 MB V-Cache + 8 MB L2). The CPU comes with a base clock of around 4 GHz which could end up at least 500 MHz slower than the Ryzen 7 7700X and a boost clock of 5.0 GHz which is 400 MHz slower than the Ryzen 7 7700X.

In the official benchmarks shared by AMD that were reported by Tomshardware, the red team gives us a look at performance comparisons across several gaming applications and standard applications. The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU is compared against both the Intel Core i9-13900K and the Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPUs (for generational comparisons).

Starting with the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D vs 5800X3D numbers, the Zen 4 3D V-Cache chip offers up to 30% better performance and a 24% improvement on average. The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D was shipped at $449 US during its launch and while discounts have brought its price close to $299 US,

it retains its top-selling position across various retailers as showcased by the weekly sales figures by TechEpiphany. The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is expected to do the same and may as well become the top-selling AM5 chip when it launches. The recent AM5 price cuts and promos will definitely entice gamers to jump to the new chip.

Now for the main comparisons against the Intel Core i9-13900K, the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D offers up to a 24% performance uplift and 16% on average across the four titles tests at 1080p (High). It's even better if we compare the value and efficiency. The Intel Core i9-13900K retails at around $550 US and consumes anywhere from 125-253W while gaming. The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D has a 120W nominal TDP but as we have seen in our 3D V-Cache review, the chip would be consuming way less than that. In fact, even if the chip consumes around 100W power (which will be a rare instance, this will still be half of what the Intel CPU consumes.

This is very impressive stuff coming from AMD. The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D launches on the 6th of April which is less than a month away. Following are the footnotes of the tests that were shared by Tomshardware:
