After the unveiling of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, tech giant Apple also displayed that both smartphones were going to be running a brand new chipset called Apple A9. According to the company, Apple A9 is going to deliver 1.8 times the performance of Apple A8, making it a formidable chipset when it goes head to head against the remaining competition. Now, we have come across the processor details of Apple A9, which we believe will make it the fastest chipset for 2015. Let us find out.

Apple A9 Features A Quad-Core Processor, Not A Dual-Core, Or Tri-Core CPU, According To Leaked Details

According to a leak coming from China, Apple A9 is not going to be running a dual-core, or a tri-core processor. Instead, it is going to be running a running a formidable quad-core processor, one that we are confident will decimate the competition with little effort. The details state that the quad-core processor is going to be divided in to two dual-core processors, where one CPU is going to be running at a speed of 1.7GHz, while the other half is going to be running at 1.2GHz.

Additionally, the leak also stated that Apple A9 is going to sport 2GB of RAM, which is twice the amount that was present in iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. However, despite these upgrades, Apple has downgraded the battery capacities, since a 3D Touch video of iPhone 6s shows that it is running a 1,715mAh battery. However, we believe that thanks to the efficiency of the LPDDR4 memory and Apple A9 SoC, the smaller cell will suffice in providing iPhone 6s with more than enough battery life.

We are going to treat this information with a grain of salt, and wait for more details to come through before we can confirm the processor configuration present in Apple A9. So far, Apple has unveiled the on-contract prices of both iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. They have been given below:

  • 16GB iPhone 6s – $199
  • 64GB iPhone 6s – $299
  • 128GB iPhone 6s – $399
  • 16GB iPhone 6s Plus – $299
  • 64GB iPhone 6s Plus – $399
  • 128GB iPhone 6s Plus – $499

All devices will be available to purchase after September 25, and will be sold in 130 countries and through 400 carries. After seeing the processor configuration, looks like we are about to witness of torrent of processing capabilities from Apple A9. Do you guys feel the same way? Let us know your thoughts.
