Find Out if Your iPhone 6s is Eligible for Free Battery Replacement from Apple
Apple has launched an online tool that lets you check whether or not your iPhone 6s is eligible for a free battery replacement directly from the company.
Is Your iPhone 6s Turning off Unexpectedly? You Might Be Eligible for a Free Battery Replacement
Apple launched a new program recently, replacing batteries of faulty iPhone 6s units for free that were unexpectedly shutting down. It appears as though devices manufactured between September and October 2015 are affected. But tracing which device you have can be a bit of pain for some. Realizing this, Apple has launched an online tool through which you can find out instantly whether or not you are eligible for a free battery replacement directly from the company.
Before we take you to the online tool, make sure you have your iPhone 6s' serial number at hand. This can either be found on its original retail packaging, or by simply navigating to Settings > General > Serial Number. Note this particular string down somewhere or copy it by pressing and holding on the text.
Now open this website up on your desktop or Safari on your iPhone. Select the country you are in using the drop-down list, enter your serial number then hit the blue Submit button. You will know there and then whether or not you are eligible for a free battery replacement. If you are, then you can find your local Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider and hand over your iPhone 6s to them.
If you do not plan on upgrading to a new Apple smartphone any time soon then this is a great opportunity to refresh things up. After all, this battery replacement program won't cost you a dime, and you will end up with a smartphone that has a brand spanking new battery, free from all trouble. Besides, the iPhone 6s is a more than capable phone compared to what is available today, so you might want to give this opportunity a chance. Just make sure you are eligible first, though.
Before giving your smartphone away to Apple for the battery replacement, make sure everything is properly backed up to either iCloud or iTunes. Do not leave anything personal on your device; make sure everything is in its factory state. Last but not the least, wireless carriers are not participating in this program at all. So do not bother taking your iPhone to them even if you are eligible for a free battery replacement. You have to get in touch with Apple to move things forward.
