Final Fantasy XVI is this month's IGN First game, meaning that the publication has a lot of exclusive content to share. Yesterday, they published eighteen minutes of dungeon gameplay captured from two different dungeons.

It's the longest glimpse we've had so far of dungeon runs in Final Fantasy XVI. As revealed by producer Naoki Yoshida earlier this year, the game won't feature any hidden dungeons because the developers wanted players to focus on the main story. That said, there will still be plenty of dungeons, although all of them will be connected in some way to the plot.

In another video shared earlier this week by IGN, Final Fantasy XVI Combat Director Ryota Suzuki and Director Hiroshi Takai gave a thorough overview of the Eikon abilities available in the game. Here's their description of the Phoenix Eikon's skillset.

Ryota Suzuki: Rising Flames is one of the abilities that Clive starts with. What makes it special is that it's a powerful ability focused directly ahead of Clive. It has high offense, and it can launch light enemies into the air. When an enemy is launched into the air, Clive gets the chance to attack. This means he's able to continue to attack an enemy in mid-air.

Hiroshi Takai: These abilities can be upgraded using Ability Points.

Ryota Suzuki: Upgrading Rising Flames increases its range when launching an enemy into the air, its number of hits, its offensive power, and makes it easier to launch tougher enemies into the air.

Heatwave is an ability focused on ranged attacks. What makes it special is that it continues on after hitting an enemy. Because it pierces through them, it can hit multiple enemies in a straight line. It's strong at both dealing damage and stunning enemies.

Flames of Rebirth is the Phoenix's most powerful spell. It's a magical attack that deals damage in a very large, 360-degree range. Upgrading Flames of Rebirth primarily increases its power and number of hits to a large degree.

Final Fantasy XVI will be released exclusively for PlayStation 5 on Thursday, June 22nd. Square Enix confirmed that a PC version will be worked on after this console launch.
