For those eagerly awaiting the new Call of Duty game, players won't have long to wait. The Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta is coming soon. It will be released simultaneously across all platforms, and subscribers to Game Pass can get early access to the game alongside those who have pre-ordered the game.

It's been a long time since that happened. Due to contracts with certain platform holders, such as Sony, the beta used to be available first on PlayStation, much to the dismay of eager Call of Duty players. Now that Activision Blizzard is owned by Microsoft, though, that practice is gone.

Those with early access can jump into the new action-packed adventure from August 30 to September 4. From there, the Open Beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 opens to the public on September 6 through to September 9. From there, players will be able to form an opinion on the game to see whether it is something that they will want to purchase and explore in the future or whether they find the game lacking.

Additionally, the brand new official podcast, "The COD POD," was launched today. On it, franchise fans can get exclusive information and access to the game's developers and learn about the behind-the-scenes of production.

In the first episode of the podcast, Miles Ross and Stephanie Snowden discuss the upcoming Call of Duty game and the settings players can expect. The game takes place at the end of the Cold War in 1991. Additionally, some familiar features will return to the game for those deeply rooted in nostalgia. For example, players can expect to see the return of Omni Movement and the traditional Prestige system in some of the earlier games.

In this podcast, special guest Matt Sherman, who is heavily involved in developing Black Ops 6, shared some insights on how the campaign will play out, the multiplayer game modes, and Warzone.

The Omni Movement feature will be a massive addition to the game. It allows players to sprint, dive, and go prone in any direction they feel necessary. Black Ops 6 will also return classic Zombies, including round-based zombies.

In addition, the Call of Duty League is coming up, which will allow viewers to gain drops for their game by linking their Activision account to their YouTube accounts to earn exclusive drops they can't get anywhere else.

Beyond the beta, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be officially released on October 25, 2024, not too long after the Open Beta. Are you excited about it?
