Apple Watch Series 5 Announced With Always-Display, All Day Battery Life, New Titanium Model, More
Apple is up on stage, announcing new hardware and services. To be honest, the prices are crazy good for Apple Arcade and Apple tv+. In addition, the latest iPad is now more powerful, which is always a welcome change. Now, the company has announced the new Apple Watch Series 5 with major improvements, including the Always On-Display, Compass and more.
Apple Watch Series 5 Brings the Always On-Display, a New Titanium Model, and a Compass
One of the major additions that the Apple Watch Series 5 brings is the Always On-Display. This is one of the most highly anticipated features which allows a user to just simply raise the display to bring it to the normal brightness, other times, it will remain lit at a lower brightness.
The best part about it is that the internals has been tuned to keep power consumption at its lowest. This ensures an all-day battery life, 18 hours, according to Apple. The new LTPO display refreshes dynamically from 60Hz to as low as 1Hz in order to save power. All of the existing watch faces have been tuned for the display.
Apple also brings Compass to the new Apple Watch. A feature not new to the industry but we're glad it has made it to Apple wearable. In addition, new Safety features have also been added to the Apple Watch like International Emergency Calling in over 150 countries. Simply press and hold the power button on the Apple Watch.
Apple Watch Series 5 comes in Silver, Gold and Space Grey. Other than this, a Stainless Steel version in Gold, Space Black and Polished versions are also available. Lastly, a new Titanium option is also available in silver and space gray color option along with a White Ceramic variant. Furthermore, new Nike models and Hermes models, including a black one is also available.
The Apple Watch Series 5 starts at just $399 and $499 for cellular models. You can order it now and it will ship September 20th. Apple is also keeping the Apple Watch Series 3 which now starts at just $199. Learn more here.
