Samsung Teases Dual-Camera Features On Galaxy Note 8 Including 3x Smart Zoom & Super Night Shot
The highly anticipated launch of this fall is Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8. The upcoming flagship has been creating a lot of buzz on the rumour mill, but in the latest report, Samsung itself has spilt a few beans about the dual camera setup on the device. While the dual-camera setup is no more an Alien concept after almost all the recent flagships featured it, but Samsung’s take on the dual-camera lens on the Note 8 is something to be excited about.
Unlike its closest rivals like the iPhone 7 Plus or LG G6, Samsung is expected to launch an entirely new module for the dual-camera setup that is not seen on any other device yet. The company is not even using the camera setup that it has recently used on its own Galaxy S8 lineup.
Samsung-Electro Mechanics (SEM) Supplier for Camera component on the Galaxy Note 8
For the Galaxy Note 8, Samsung-Electro Mechanics (SEM) is rumoured to be supplying the dual-camera system, and its website also lists features that the camera is capable of rendering. The four main features of dual-sensors as highlighted by the company are – Dual Fusion, Depth Application, Super Night Shot, and Smart Zoom
The “Smart Zoom” feature as explained on the SEM website will enable 3x optical zoom on a smartphone while the “Refocus” feature would allow the camera to sense depth and to blur the background or foreground of the picture. The website also reveals that the dual-camera on Galaxy Note 8 will offer better low-light performance as it comes with enhanced light absorption technique, thanks to the two camera lenses on the rear. On the other hand, the “Perspective View” and “Background Effect” features will offer a variety of editing tools based on the dual-camera setup. We can expect the popular bokeh effect to be included in this.
Dual-camera features mentioned above are not yet confirmed to be included on the Galaxy Note 8. But it’s highly unlikely that SEM would tease these features without any agenda. The dual-camera setup explained on the website seems pretty much in alignment with the previous leaks about the Galaxy Note 8 too.
Galaxy Note 8 Spotted on FCC
Alongside, the Galaxy Note 8 was also spotted on the FCC recently, which does not reveal any information about the device. But it does confirm that Samsung will be launching the device. The company is expected to launch the Galaxy Note 8 at the Galaxy Unpacked event in New York City on August 23.
