Download Android Nougat

Android Nougat has started to roll out to all the compatible devices, but it will take some time before you receive the over the air notification. The latest mobile operating system version will work on some of the Nexus devices, Pixel C and General Mobile 4G (Android One). Supported Nexus devices include Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 9 (WiFi and LTE), and Nexus Player.

If you were enrolled in the Android Beta Program, you will receive the update before others. But, for those on Marshmallow, it could take a week or so. Can't wait? You don't have to because you can download Android Nougat OTA files right away.

We will share with you the OTA files of more devices as they become available.

Once downloaded, boot into recovery mode and sideload the update through your computer to taste all the deliciousness of Nougat, similar to how you flash the regular firmware updates on your smartphones. For more details and steps, you can check out this official guide. Unlike factory images, you won't need an unlocked bootloader. Google is yet to publish Android Nougat factory images, which too we will share with you once they go live.

Some users have reported successfully getting today's update by enrolling in the Beta Program. If you can't wait for the official notification,  sign up for Beta Program, and hopefully you too will receive an update notification instantly.

Alternatively, you can go to Settings > About Phone > System updates to check for notification to update your device to Android Nougat over the air.

We will be sharing the Android 7.0 Nougat Factory Images when they become available. In the meanwhile, don't forget to check our early Android Nougat review.
