tvOS 10.1 Beta 4 Released

Apple has released tvOS 10.1 Beta 4 to registered developers. The beta update is available over the air and through Apple Developer Program website.

Beta 4 of tvOS 10.1 Arrives a Couple of Day After Other Software Was Updated

A couple of days back, Apple updated its entire pre-release software lineup with the exception of tvOS. Today, the company has fulfilled that void as well with the release of tvOS 10.1 Beta 4 to registered developers. If you have tvOS 10.1 Beta already installed on your Apple TV 4 then you will be pleased to learn that you can download the latest build over the air using WiFi. If you are downloading fresh however, then you might want to sign in to the Apple Developer Program website with your account and restore your Apple TV 4 using iTunes.

Here is how you can update to tvOS 10.1 Beta 4 right away if you have a previous pre-release build installed.

1. Turn on your Apple TV 4.

2. Now select the Settings app and launch it.

3. Scroll down and select System.

4. Go to Software Updates and install the latest update available for your Apple TV.

The entire download and installation process will take no more than 15 minutes, depending mostly on the speed of your Internet connection. Once you are done, you can start using your Apple TV 4 as you normally would. But of course, since you are dealing with beta software here, therefore expect a few bugs around corners.

tvOS 10.1 is a very minor update compared to the current public release. The biggest and notable addition in this build is the new TV app that serves as a hub for all your video related content. In fact, if you install the latest iOS 10.2 Beta on your iPhone or iPad right now, you'll notice the absence of Videos app. The TV app takes its place directly. This applies to those devices that are in the United States only. If you reside anywhere else in the world, you'll come face to face with Videos as you normally would.

In the meantime, make sure your Apple TV 4 software is updated. Latest builds ensure smooth functionality of the hardware you are currently boasting while offering loads of bug fixes and performance related enhancements. Each and every single beta update is one step further in terms of stability, something which you direly need, especially if you love testing software on a day to day basis.

We will inform our readers if Apple has packed anything new in this build.
