Deus Ex creator Warren Spector is weeks away from releasing his latest game, Thick as Thieves, made by his new team at Otherside Entertainment. The stealth action game that began as a PvPvE game before it went full co-op and PvE is due out on May 20, 2026, and in a new developer deep-dive released today, we found out a pretty significant detail about its impending launch, which is its bargain bin price.

While we'll likely continue to be concerned about how much we'll have to pay for GTA 6 until the price is finally revealed, no one looking to buy Thick as Thieves will be concerned with affording it, since you'll be able to pick it up for just $4.99 / €4.99 / £4.99 at launch.

Today's deep-dive, narrated by game director Jeff Hickman, is the latest we've seen from the game since its release date reveal at the Triple-I Initiative Showcase earlier this month.

It showed off a bit of the world of Kilcairn, the game's setting, and several of the ways players can approach the game's maps and stealth challenges. It also showed off one of the game's main playable characters, known as the Spider, and how each of the playable characters features their own stealth abilities that suit different playstyles depending on how you want to approach each situation.

Whether Thick as Thieves will be a hit or not is something we'll have to wait and see for when it launches, but it's difficult to deny all the positive things it has going for it. A team of veteran developers led by some of the most influential and iconic designers in the industry, all working towards making something well within their wheelhouse, and now they're going to be delivering all of that for the price of an expensive coffee.

It's an easy choice for stealth fans to make, to give Thick as Thieves a try. Hopefully, the final game and the post-launch content that will follow can live up to expectations.
