The game originally appeared on Steam in early 2021, showing a remarkable similarity to games like Ubisoft Massive's The Division and Naughty Dog's The Last of Us. We quickly interviewed the development team to learn more while The Day Before rose to become one of the most wishlisted games on Steam.

However, fans were discouraged by several delays. The first was caused by the switch to Unreal Engine 5. Later, yet another delay was caused by trademark issues, which also led to The Day Before disappearing on Steam. At last, the game is back on Valve's store following a successful victory in the IP tribunal.

According to the Steam page, The Day Before will stay in early access for six to eight months. The price in early access will be $39, to be increased to $49 when the full version is released. This is also when the developers plan to launch the console versions.
