Star Wars Battlefront Gets Info on Ewoks and Maps, Weekly News Updates
E3 2015 is less than a month away and Star Wars fans are eagerly looking forward to see the first gameplay footage of Star Wars Battlefront, as promised by the developers over at DICE.
Community Manager Mathew Everett is keeping us informed on Reddit.
Everett clarifies that Ewok fans will be pleased to know that there will be a few of them on Endor:
“Ewoks are 100% on Endor.”
EA Dice recently confirmed that there would be twelve multiplayer maps and four planets, which led many to believe many that it meant three maps per planet.
Everett, hints that this might not be exactly the case
“The maps will offer a nice mix of locations and environments. Stay tuned as we reveal new maps, modes, etc. in the months ahead.”
In a subsequent pot Everett suggests that the mission maps might not be the same as the multiplayer ones:
“Fairly sure we never said ‘3 maps per planet’ I know we said 12 multiplayer maps with even more if you include missions.”
He continues that there will be weekly news updates on Reddit:
“You can also read a bunch of news here weekly.”
and news might become more frequent further on:
“That seems to be our track record as of now. I foresee it becoming more often in the near future : )”
EA dICE have also shared a nice humorous tweet:

Everett also explained that PC requirements, might be different from the latest Battlefield games.
With the Frostbite engine and the inclusion of full PBR, the game isn’t just like Battlefield Hardline or Battlefield 4. Once the team has the game into its Beta phase, they can start testing the game on 100’s if not thousands of PC systems and find the minimum spec required to run the game. It might end up being the same as Battlefield Hardline or even Battlefield 4. But until those tests can take place, we can’t commit to specs / details.
Being a fairly hardcore PC gamer, I want to know the specs as well. But… my PC is powerful, so not worried. But I know you guys are and want to get you that info as soon as we can.
Preorders for Star Wars Battlefront are available for both the Standard and Deluxe versions. As producer Jesper Nielsen stated, gameplay will come in due time, so it would be safe to assume that the development diaries will lead up to that.
