Sony has just unveiled the August 2024 lineup of free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers. By far, the most exciting addition is LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

The licensed open-world title released by TT Games in 2022 set new sales records for a LEGO game, with 3.2 million units sold in just two weeks. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga received an eight out of ten score from Nathan Birch in Wccftech's review:

In my preview of Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, I worried that the game’s more complex story missions may discourage younger players, and honestly, those concerns were valid. The game doesn’t always explain its objectives as well as it could, to the point even I was confused at times. Of course, parents can help youngsters along via drop-in local co-op, but you’re not always going to be able to head off the frustration and tantrums. That said, I think most kids will have a blast just messing around in the new sandbox stages. TT Games has done a solid job of catering to both sides of the force here – a somewhat more demanding campaign for the parents, and fun sandbox playgrounds for the kiddos.

And there’s plenty to keep both parents and kids busy. Even given the game’s skimming, it will still take you around 15 hours to play through nine movies worth of story missions, and those looking to collect every brick, stub, character, and vehicle will double or triple that playtime. The Skywalker Saga may be done in theaters, but the game won’t be for a while.

The August PlayStation Plus lineup also includes two more games: the dark fantasy 2D action RPG Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights for PlayStation 4 users and the family-friendly horror game Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach, which is available on both PS4 and PS5.

As a reminder, PlayStation Plus subscribers still have until August 6 to grab July's games (Borderlands 3, NHL 24, and Among Us) for their libraries.
