Pixel Fold To Have The “Most Durable Hinge” And Water Resistance, Claims Google, Free Pixel Watch On Pre-Orders

The Pixel Fold is going to go official on May 10th, 2023, at the Google I/O, and so far, we have heard a lot of interesting details. Sadly, those who want to get their hands on the device will have to wait until June, later this year, but it is nice to see that Google's foldable is finally coming out after being leaked numerous times over the past year. Now, a new report has surfaced that suggests that Google might offer a Pixel Watch to those who preorder the new foldable, and while it is a tempting offer, there are going to be some concerns.

Google will be offering a free Pixel Watch for those who pre-order the Pixel Fold

Based on an internal document reviewed by CNBC, Google plans to offer the Pixel Watch free for those who preorder the foldable. In addition, Google will also offer trade-in offerings for both Androids and iPhones, so if you are looking to make a switch, this is a great option.

The internal document also reveals some other details. For starters, the Pixel Fold will launch in June, something we discovered a couple of days ago. Secondly, the new device will bring a hinge that will be the most durable in any foldable. It will even offer water resistance, making the phone a stellar purchase for anyone who is looking to upgrade.

Honestly, at this point, I would not expect any less from Pixel Fold. Based on a prior leak, the device is going to cost a whopping $1,799, which is exactly what Samsung charges for its foldable, so at such a price, I would expect the same level of experience and luxury, if not more.

While the Pixel Fold looks like a stellar offering, we still don't know the specs, and at this point, that will be the biggest deciding factor for many. For instance, if Google is charging $1,799 for a phone that is going to offer last year's chipset, then it will have a really hard time measuring up to the Galaxy Z Fold 4, or even the Galaxy Z Fold 5, which is also coming out later this year. However, getting the upcoming Tensor G3 in the Pixel Fold will become a more attractive option for those who want a foldable experience.

Whatever the case might be, we will learn more about the Pixel Fold in the coming days and weeks, and be sure to keep you posted about everything that Google has in stores for us and more.
