Origin Access Will Soon Get Star Wars Battlefront & Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, Among Others

Electronic Arts announced Origin Access nine months ago, launching it in select territories (US, UK, Germany and Canada). Origin Access was modeled after the successful EA Access initiative on Xbox One. Subscribers get various benefits, starting with the ability to play all the games in the Vault for as long as they're subscribed.

Here's a list of the games currently in the Vault:

  • Battlefield 3, 4 & Hardline
  • Dead Space 1, 2 & 3
  • FIFA 15 & FIFA 16
  • Mass Effect 1, 2 & 3
  • Plants vs Zombies
  • Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 1 & 2
  • Crysis 1, 2 & 3
  • Dragon Age 1(Origins), 2 & 3 (Inquisition)
  • Need for Speed & Need for Speed Rivals
  • The Sims 3 Starter Pack
  • SimCity & SimCity 2000
  • Titanfall
  • Unravel
  • Jade Empire
  • Torchlight 2
  • Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
  • This War of Mine
  • The Banner Saga
  • Trine 1 & 2
  • Mini Metro
  • Dungeons of Dredmor
  • Peggle

Electronic Arts will expand the Vault later this year with the following games:

  • Star Wars Battlefront
  • Mirror's Edge Catalyst
  • Need for Speed Most Wanted
  • Crusader: No Remorse
  • Crusader: No Regret (in select regions)
  • Ultima Collection (in select regions)

Of course, Origin Access also has additional benefits such as 10% discounts on all purchases as well as the Play First trials. For instance, subscribers will be able to play Battlefield 1 from October 13th for up to 10 hours of gameplay. If they choose to buy the full game, they'll be able to continue their progress in both single and multiplayer.

There are a few exceptions, though: Titanfall 2 won't be eligible for any of the membership benefits, possibly due to the game being made by a third party developer (Respawn Entertainment) under the EA Partners program.
