OnePlus 6T Might Feature a Triple-Camera Design and Get 5G Support Out of the Box
While the OnePlus 6’s Red variant is currently being marketed to once again create a substantial level of hype, the latest rumor talks about the more advanced OnePlus 6T. If you checked out the OnePlus 6T concept, you’ll appreciate what the content creator went into making such a video since it featured a pop-up camera just like the only found on the Vivo NEX, as well as a full-screen display. However, the rumored specifications of the upcoming smartphone suggest that its launch might not take place this year.
OnePlus 6T Might See an Early Launch Next Year as 5G Support Means That It Will Undoubtedly Feature the Snapdragon 855
The latest rumor via Gizchina suggests that the smartphone could provide support for 5G connectivity. OnePlus has been actively discussing relevant terms and conditions with major U.S. carriers to release a locked variant for people to take advantage of. Also, with Qualcomm as its long-term partner, it is not difficult to imagine that the OnePlus 6T will come with the Snapdragon 855.
Looking at the OnePlus 6, which is the most successful smartphone launch for the company thanks to 1 million units sold in 22 days, Qualcomm might be encouraged to provide an early batch of the Snapdragon 855 SoC, which is made on TSMC’s 7nm architecture. What is more interesting to us is to see a triple-camera sensor on the OnePlus 6T, and we are hoping it will be able to provide up to 3x optical zoom from the rear side, just like what the P20 Pro does with its own advanced camera hardware.
There were rumors suggesting that the OnePlus 6T is going to see launch this year, but if the aforementioned information turns out to be true, that will only be possible if Qualcomm allows lots of OEMs to get early access to the Snapdragon 855, and we honestly do not believe that something like this is going to materialize this early.
You should also take the mentioned details with a pinch of salt for now; the OnePlus 6T might even cease to exist in the future because the company might end up having different plans at the 11th hour. However, even if none of the rumors turn out to be true, one thing is for certain, the OnePlus 6T is going to be one expensive smartphone
As the company continues to become more aware to the competitive nature of this business, you can rest assured that you will see incremental price increases in the near future.
