Nintendo to Fix Drifting Joy-Cons Free of Charge, Internal Nintendo Memo Claims

Nintendo Switch Joy-Con drifting issues

Nintendo has reportedly instructed its customer service to offer free Joy-Con repairs.

As reported by VICE, an internal Nintendo memo reportedly instructs its customer service to no longer charge players seeking repairs for their ‘drifting’ Joy-Cons. In addition, those who have already paid for the repairs can ask for a refund.

“Customers will no longer be requested to provide proof of purchase for Joy-Con repairs,” VICE writes, based on the internal customer service details. “Additionally it is not necessary to confirm warranty status. If a customer requests a refund for a previously paid Joy-Con repair [...] confirm the prior repair and then issue a refund.”

Nintendo recently commented on the Joy-Con drifting issues and said to be aware of the issues, but merely directed customers to its product support page.

We highly suggest to contact Nintendo’s customer service in case you’re plagued with drifting Joy-Cons.

As always we’ll keep you updated.
