Next Apple Watch to feature a thinner logic board

The Apple Watch X is rumored to undergo the same fate as the iPhone X on its tenth anniversary with major design and internal changes. However, we are not sure if the Apple Watch X will launch this year or the next, as the wearable first saw daylight in 2015 but was announced in 2014. Nonetheless, we can be sure that the company has planned big for the Apple Watch. We are also hearing that the next Apple Watch model or the Series 10 could come with a thinner logic board thanks to the new resin-coating material.

Next Apple Watch to get resin-coated copper coating for a thinner logic board

The Apple Watch is a powerhouse compared to its size, and the functionality it brings for users is ahead of the curve as far as the competition is concerned. If you are unfamiliar, the resin-coated copper is basically a foil coated with resin, which could offer various benefits to the Apple Watch's logic board. The news was shared by Taiwanese website DigiTimes, claiming that the next Apple Watch could come with a thinner logic board, which is all thanks to the new coating material.

Since the Apple Watch is quite small compared to other Apple products, the company wants to save space internally, which can be put to good use, such as new health sensors, a bigger battery, and more. While resin-coating offers a range of benefits like better water resistance and durability, one of the major benefits is a slimmed-down logic board. According to the source, at least one model of the Apple Watch will come with the new logic board, and it could be the highly anticipated Apple Watch X.

With the forthcoming changes in place, the next Apple Watch could make room for Apple's rumored blood pressure sensors and even non-invasive glucose monitoring, but it might take a while for the feature to arrive. Nonetheless, the Apple Watch could see some major internal changes this year; at least one model could, according to the source.

As for the rest of the Apple products, we have also previously reported that the company is planning to incorporate the resin-coated copper on the iPhone 17's logic board. The addition would bring the same advantages to the table as the Apple Watch. The Apple Watch has been running with the same design as the last few generations. Other than a few minor tweaks, the wearable is due for a redesign. Do you think Apple will release the Apple Watch X this year or the next? Let us know in the comments.
