[Updated] A New Medievil Announcement Could be Coming at E3 2015

[Updated] It has been confirmed that this is a fan made Unreal Engine 4 demo made to draw the attention of Sony to the demand for the series.

You can watch the new video footage below:

It appears that a new Medievil title could be in the works by Sony. Two images and a short video suggesting the existence of the title have surfaced. The screenshots are rather blurry but the skeletal undead knight, Sir Daniel Fortesque, protagonist of the Medieval series, is quite recognizable, as is his trademark walk. The two images can be viewed below:

MediEvil was released in Europe and North America in October 1998. An evil sorcerer named Zarok, attempts to ensnare the land of Gallowmere under his evil reign, but unwittingly brings his old nemesis, Sir Daniel Fortesque, back to life. Sir Dan must face hordes of zombies, pumpkins and other monsters as he traverses through Gallowmere.

Medievil had a sequel in 2000 , Medievil 2 , also for PlayStation . Later, in 2005 , it was renovated as Medievil Resurrection for PlayStation Portable .The title is a pun on the medieval English words and evil, meaning respectively 'medieval' and 'evil', as the game is set between the Middle Ages and the macabre terror.

If the leak is indeed real then we might have a reveal at E3 2015 in June, and the new title in the Medievil series will be one of the surprise announcements made at Sony's press conference. The original as well as the subsequent titles, featured a quite appealing visual style, heavily influenced by Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. The action-adventure hack n' slash video games were developed by SCE Cambridge Studio and published by Sony Computer Entertainment.

Other titles that will likely make an appearance at Sony's press conference are among others, the new Ratchet & Clank reboot, set to release alongside the movie adaptation of the series, the new Sucker Punch PS4 exclusive, the new RPG by Killzone developer, Guerrilla, Uncharted 4, and of course a new God of War PS4 title. A PS4 title from Heavy Rain and Two Souls' studio Quantic Dream is also quite likely to be announced.

We will bring you any new information regarding the new Medievil title as soon as it becomes available. Be sure to check out our previous E3 2015 coverage for more.
