If you want to download your iPhone's latest iOS 17.2.1 update, head over to the Settings app, navigate to General > Software Update, and follow the on-screen instructions to install the latest build. We have previously covered that Apple was planning to release iOS 17.2.1 shortly, and as promised, the company has delivered. The update arrived earlier than we initially anticipated.
As for what is new in the latest build, Apple's changelog mentions that iOS 17.2.1 features important bug fixes and that the update is recommended for all users. We have previously detailed that iOS 17 features a strange bug that makes the Messages app disappear while rearranging icons on the iPhone's Home Screen. Potentially, Apple has fixed the bug that was causing the issue. There is no word about which additional bugs have been catered to.
Besides iOS 17.2.1, Apple has also released macOS 14.2.1 for all compatible Macs to the general public. The update can be downloaded through the Software Update mechanism in System Settings on compatible Macs if you want to check it out. As for what is new in the latest update, macOS Sonoma 14.2.1 features important bug fixes and security updates for all compatible Macs. It also fixes a screen-sharing vulnerability that causes devices to share incorrect content.
