Enable Now Playing on Android and See The Music History Google Detected in the Background
If you own a Google Pixel smartphone, there are some pretty nifty features that you can enjoy. Moreover, these features are exclusive on Pixel devices but you can install a mod and use Now Playing on other Android phones as well. You might have come across a situation when you are listening to a song but you are not familiar with the band or title. Well, Google's algorithms are always working under the hood and detecting music around you. Well, today you will learn how you can enable Now Playing on your Android phone and see the music history that Google detected in the background.
How to Easily Enable and Check Now Playing History on Android and See What Songs Google Detected in The Background
If you are unfamiliar, Google's Now Playing feature detects music around you so you do not have to scour the internet with lyrics just to reach its name. When you enable the feature, your Pixel device would automatically hear it and show you the name of the band/singer and the song title. Moreover, you can access the music history that Google detected on your pixel phone as well. What this means is that your Pixel phone keeps a track of the music even if you are not paying attention. If you are not familiar, follow the steps to enable Now Playing on Android and see the full music history on your Pixel.
1. The first thing that you have to do is launch the Settings app.
2. Now, head over to Sound & Vibration.
3. Scroll down and you will see the Now Playing option. Tap on it.
4. Lastly, toggle on Identify songs playing nearby.
5. To check the music history, you will see the Now Playing History button below the toggle. Tap on it to access the list of songs that Google detected.
This is all there is to it. You will now easily know the name of any song that is playing in the background. Moreover, when you are connected to the WiFi, your Pixel device will download the database of songs. What this means is that your Pixel phone can even notify you of song names when you are not connected to the internet. I was astonished several times how my Google Pixel 4 was able to recognize songs even when it was not connected to the internet. In the present, Now Playing will also display the song name on the Lock Screen.
