God Of War

God of War's review embargo has expired and a plethora of perfect scores (including ours) dropped for the return of Kratos on PlayStation 4. So far, the game is sitting at an average of 94 on Metacritic and 95 on OpenCritic.

To celebrate the auspicious event, Game Director Cory Barlog shared four heartfelt messages of thanks directed via Twitter to the main cast of actors (Chris Judge, who plays Kratos; Danielle Bisutti, who plays the mother of Atreus; Sunny Suljic, who plays Atreus himself) as well as composer Bear McCreary, responsible for the music in The Walking Dead, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Outlander, Black Sails, Defiance, Constantine, 10 Cloverfield Lane, The Cloverfield Paradox among others.

We did something great @iamchrisjudge. Thank you for every moment of truth you brought to this experience. You gave so much of yourself to this role and I am truly honored to have taken this journey with you.

❤️My dearest @DanielleBisutti, you are so strong, so honest and a goddamn force of nature. You blew me away from the first words of your audition and continued to amaze me with every moment of your performance. Thank you. I am forever a fan lucky enough to work with you.

Holy hell @bearmccreary, you are an incredible partner to collaborate with. I feel like we worked together in another life because we creatively finish each other's sentences. There are no words to properly describe the impact you have had on this game. Thank you, brother.❤️?

BOY! ? @Sunnysuljic4, I want you to know how damn proud I am of you. We have been on one hell of a journey these past years together and I would not change a thing. You brought something so special to the character of Atreus. You are Atreus. You are a great performer. Thank you.

According to Kai, PlayStation 4 owners should really get God of War when it launches on April 20th.

God of War is one of those rare titles that define the console generation. Kratos’ fighting has been refined to its very best and the lands of Midgard are filled with wonders of all manner to explore and defeat. It’s been nearly the entire lifespan of the PlayStation 4 console since Kratos has seen new adventure but the wait has been absolutely worth it. Santa Monica Studio’s journey is still far from over, but they’ve once again shown why Kratos is one of gaming’s greatest anti-heroes.
