With the amount of success Samsung has been enjoying with its Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy S8+, it is hard not to believe that the company would not want to take a few gambles, and according to the latest rumor, the next attempt to seize a smaller share of the smartphone market would come in the form of the Galaxy S8 mini.

Rumor has it that while the Galaxy S8 mini will get the same undeniably attractive Infinity Display, which is one of the key separating differences between the Galaxy S8 and other devices, it has been reported that it is going to be smaller and tout less powerful hardware compared to its bigger brethren.

Galaxy S8 mini Rumored to a Get a 5.3-Inch Display Coupled With a Snapdragon 821 – Rumor Has Not Defined the Pricing of the Smaller Device

According to a rumor originating from a Chinese source, the Galaxy S8 mini is expected to feature a 5.3-inch display, though details on the resolution have not been stated. Since the Galaxy S8’s 5.8-inch display actually feels like a 4.7-inch iPhone 7, the Galaxy S8 mini might feel like an iPhone SE, assuming the rumor turns out to be true. However, given the fact that this is going to be a smaller version of the Galaxy S8, it is not going to be getting a Snapdragon 835, or Exynos 8895 equivalent.

Instead, it has been rumored to get a Snapdragon 821 coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. If you’re getting 32GB of UFS 2.1 storage, then that’s not such a bad deal, and if there’s a microSD card slot available too, then you have absolutely nothing to worry about as far as storage expansion goes.

The advantage of having a 5.3-inch display on the Galaxy S8 mini is definitely not going to be its smaller battery capacity, but the fact that you will be able to access the rear-mounted fingerprint reader with ease. Plus, there are consumers that display a huge predilection towards smaller devices since they carry the convenience of portability and compact nature.
