EEC Gets New MacBook Pro & Apple Watch Registrations, Signaling the Arrival of New Products
With merely a few days left to go until the end of August, September is truly upon us, which means new Apple products including iPhones and possible Apple Watch Series variants are on the way. Just in time for the big month, the Eurasian Economic Commission’s (EEC for short) database has been updated with a mix of seen and unseen products. These filings are usually spotted before the release of new products as they are warranted by law in some countries.
New 16-Inch MacBook Pro Might Get Apple’s Scissor Switch Keyboard, With a Launch Date Either Set for Next Month, or October
It’s also worth mentioning that the database doesn’t contain product names, just identifiers in the form of letters and numbers. However, based on what is already known, it’s not difficult to do some guesswork and separate the previously released models from the upcoming ones. First off, the database mentions some older iPhones, Apple Watch Series models, iPod touch models, and MacBook Air and Macbook Pro models to account for the fact that they now run the latest versions of Apple’s operating systems, macOS Catalina.
Some of the iPhone models and four Apple Watch listings have popped up for the first time. While the iPhone identifiers do seem to refer to iPhone 11, it’s hard to say if the Apple Watch models mentioned belong to the Series 4 or Series 5. They could surely be representing the variants with titanium and ceramic cases, as these were seemingly leaked with watchOS 6 assets. The Series 3 and Series 4 models have also been listed, which means they will not be taken off the market anytime soon.
Moving on, 11 identifiers have been filed for the Mac range, but most of them are released models that have shown up again as they now run macOS Catalina, as mentioned before. However, some devices seem to be new, and one of the model numbers can certainly pertain to the rumored 16-inch MacBook Pro, which sources state might either launch in September or at a separate event during October. Other models might also receive a specifications upgrade, possibly getting treated to Intel’s latest Comet Lake processors.
Apple will likely announce the next-generation iPhones as well as the new Apple Watch Series models in September. If we’re lucky, it might also unveil the 16-inch MacBook Pro the same day if some reports are to go by. Whatever goes down next month, it’s safe to say that we’ll be witnessing a lot of new product launches, so stay tuned for more updates down the road, and let us know which products you’re most excited to see from this EEC filing down in the comments.
