Yesterday, we have reported that Diablo 4 was going to be announced at this year's edition of BlizzCon. A few hours after the original report has been posted online, Blizzard has responded to it, denying that the announcement has been pulled out at the last moment.

In a statement sent to Kotaku, Blizzard confirmed that no announcement has been pulled from this year's BlizzCon. The publisher also confirmed that multiple teams are working on Diablo projects, and they will be announced at the right time.

First off we want to mention that we definitely hear our community. We generally don’t comment on rumors or speculation, but we can say that we didn’t pull any announcements from BlizzCon this year or have plans for other announcements. We do continue to have different teams working on multiple unannounced Diablo projects, and we look forward to announcing when the time is right

Yesterday's report revealed that Blizzard recorded a video in which co-founder Allen Adham talked about a new Diablo game. Sources have confirmed that the video is real, but it seems like it was never planned for it to be shown during BlizzCon.

The latest entry in the series is Diablo III, now out on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The iOS and Android game Diablo Immortal will be released on a yet to be confirmed release date.
