Ever since its debut on the Galaxy S24 series, Google's Circle to Search has become one of the best features to grace the Android ecosystem. Although Google was quick to ensure that other devices also got the update, the number of phones currently capable of running this feature is still small. However, the Mountain View giant shared last night at Google I/O that it has some ambitious plans for this feature.
Circle to Search is the best feature that Google has released in a long, long time
During the event, the company confirmed that Circle to Search will be available on over 200 million devices by the end of this year. At the moment, it is already powering 100 million devices, which is impressive, to say the least, given that it has only been around five months since the feature first rolled out.
One reason for its popularity is Samsung's dedication to pushing the One UI 6.1 update to older Galaxy devices. The update also brings Galaxy AI, and Circle to Search is part of Samsung's AI suite. Google also has this feature available on Tensor-powered Pixel devices, and by the end of this year, the number of devices supporting this feature will only go up.
There is no denying that Circle to Search is immensely popular, and one of the biggest reasons behind that is just how convenient this feature is. If you prefer searching for content all the time on the internet and you are looking for a quick and easy way to search for what you are looking for, then this feature is for you. I cannot wait for this feature to become a mainstay on other devices, especially the more affordable devices, as the Pixel 8a already has support for it, and there will be more devices going forward.
