In addition to the Silver Mi6, Xiaomi has also a prepped a Ceramic variant of its first flagship smartphone for 2017, and if that handset feels like a good upgrade in terms of cosmetics and specifications, then we’re going to be the bearer of bad news and have to tell you that there are going to be limited quantities available. Naturally, Xiaomi would want nothing better than to start selling its aesthetically upgraded flagship, but there are other factors that come into play, resulting in limited quantities being produced for the initial supply run.
Ceramic Xiaomi Mi6 Will Be Produced in Scarce Volumes Because of the Low Production Metric of Ceramic CNC Machining
According to Chinese microblogging website Weibo, Pan Jiutang states that the Ceramic Xiaomi Mi6 variant is initially going to be sold in small quantities, which can also mean that it can lead to a higher price tag when it is officially available. This setback might actually work in Xiaomi’s favor because both the Silver Edition and Ceramic Xiaomi Mi6 are highly attractive smartphones and there are several million of consumers out there that want a blend of both performance and ‘bling’ from their devices.
As for the hardware specifications, both versions come with a Snapdragon 835 coupled with 6GB RAM and an abundant 128GB of native storage. Keep in mind that none of these versions come with expandable storage so if you want to purchase one of these, we recommend that you get your hands on the 128GB ones since you will have plenty of storage headroom in the future.
It is not clear when production quantities are going to improve, but we will keep you up to date on the latest info in the future.
Would you love to get your hands on the Ceramic version of the Mi6 when it officially becomes available? Tell us in the comments right away.
