Google Search results comprise of business listings, so if your company is also listed on it then here is something that could benefit you. Today, Google announced that it is changing the editing process for business listings and therefore allowing users (business owners) to make changes and update directly within Google Search.
To make edits and update your business listing on Google Search, you have to ensure that you're logged into your Google account for business (account used for business). Now, search for your business on Google, and you will see new editing tools for creating new posts, updating info, adding images, replying to reviews, and more. Not just editing, Google will also enlighten you about practices that you can do to help your business listing stand out from others. It will also suggest you add more information that the users may need.
These new editing tools are called as “business dashboard” by Google. The dashboard will also show audience views for your business listing on Search. Besides, it will also notify business owners whenever users upload images of their business. The editing options will also allow businesses to edit their work hours to let users know whether you're open on holidays or not. All these tools are available in the general search results for your business and the “business dashboard” can be directly accessed on desktop and mobile, starting today.
In a blog post, Ranjith Jayaram, Product Manager, Google Local Search, writes:
