ASUS has demonstrated early WiFi 8 capabilities, which will be deployed on future routers. ROG NeoCore is one of the first such concepts.
ASUS Claims WiFi 8 Benefits are Real; Showcases ROG NeoCore Concept Router and Demonstrates 2X Higher Mid-Range Throughput
You heard it! WiFi 8 routers are coming, and the retail models might arrive this year. ASUS has already showcased its first WiFi 8 concept router at CES, claiming that the WiFi 8 benefits are real. The new concept goes by the name ROG NeoCore, which is currently in the development phase. As far as the WiFi 8 standard goes, it's not just another WiFi standard that aims to significantly increase the bandwidth. It's instead focused on improving the stability, which ASUS demonstrated at the event.
ASUS says they conducted the first real-world WiFi 8 throughput test, which reveals that WiFI 8 delivers better stability, latency consistency, and multi-device coordination. According to the claims, WiFi 8 delivers 2x higher mid-range throughput vs WiFi 7, 6x lower P99 latency, and 2x wider IoT coverage. So, these are some drastic gains in real-world wireless quality.

The main goal of WiFi 8 is to make the wireless connection more reliable and stable over a larger distance. Moreover, WiFi 8 aims to deliver better coexistence with the neighboring routers, strong uplink reliability for low-power devices, and smarter spectrum use for multiple APs and clients. So, the ultimate goal is to offer more than just a speed upgrade, ensuring stable internet speed, low latency, and reliability for various devices.

The first WiFi 8 concept router, the ASUS ROG NeoCore, is currently being worked on, and ASUS has a roadmap that confirms multiple retail WiFi 8 routers and mesh systems are scheduled to arrive this year.
