Apple will be accepting pre-orders for the devices starting today, and the products will begin reaching customers on May 10. Users in the region who wish to buy the speakers should order as soon as they can before availability ships to a later date. You will have to wait until May 10 to get the product from the physical Apple Store.
The HomePod mini was the company's answer to target the budget smart speaker market, similar to Google and Amazon. The speakers bring most of the design elements from its bigger sibling but offer comparatively fewer features when it comes to audio profiles and sound quality. The 'mini' was introduced back in 2020, and since then, it has seen no changes in looks.
Apart from the smaller version, Apple also brings the second generation of the bigger HomePod to the region. Despite its hefty price tag, the HomePod comes with a plethora of utilities, which it shares with the mini. HomePod has enhanced sound quality and improved bass compared to the original. The larger model has the same design as the previous model, making it virtually identical.
The HomePod mini is available in a range of colors. It has also been updated with support for temperature and humidity sensors, which have existed on the device since its launch, but the company updated the software that brought the change. As for the larger HomePod, it is available in two color options, Black and White. It also comes with Matter compatibility and stereo pairing support for an even more immersive listening experience.
The expanded availability of the HomePod lineup means that the company could take its time to introduce upgraded versions of the speaker.
