AMD's upcoming Ryzen 5 9600X3D, Ryzen 5 9600 & Ryzen 9000 PRO Desktop CPUs have been confirmed through the latest drivers.
AMD Preps Ryzen 5 9600X3D, Ryzen 5 9600 & Ryzen 9000 PRO Desktop CPUs, Launching Through SIs First In 2H 2025
The latest information regarding AMD's upcoming Ryzen 9000 Desktop CPUs has been leaked within the latest "SI Driver for Radeon" release, and was spotted by X user, MelodicWarrior. In the driver, AMD lists several unreleased desktop CPUs such as the Ryzen 5 9600X3D, the Ryzen 5 9600, and the Ryzen 9000 PRO series.
Starting with the chip that everyone would be excited to hear about is the AMD Ryzen 5 9600X3D. The Ryzen 5 9600X3D would be the most entry-level 3D V-Cache option within the Ryzen 9000 line, and will pave way for more gamers to adopt the next-gen Zen 5 and AM5 platforms. As for specs, it will feature 6 cores, 12 threads, and a single CCD with 2nd Gen V-Cache technology, offering 64 MB of cache for a total of 96 MB of L3, which would lead to some impressive gaming performance and value. The CPU will likely retain TDP and clocks similar to the Ryzen 5 9600X.
There's also the Ryzen 5 9600 CPU, which has been out for a while, though this chip is now being shipped in the System Integrators segment. The chip packs 6 cores, 12 threads, up to 5.2 GHz clock speeds, and 32 MB of L3 cache with a TDP rating of 65W. The chip has largely been aimed at OEMs and SIs, which is one reason we have seen little to no DIY or boxed listings of the CPU, though that might change in the coming months.
And lastly, there are the new AMD Ryzen 9000 PRO Desktop CPUs. A total of four CPUs have been listed by AMD, which include the Ryzen 9 PRO 9945, Ryzen 7 PRO 9745, Ryzen 5 PRO 9645, and the Ryzen 5 PRO 9400. Now we can't say for sure whether these are based on the "Granite Ridge" CPU design or something different. Do note that AMD is going to launch its next-generation APU lineup later this year, too, but these chips aren't listed with the "G" suffix, which is used to represent APUs.
As for the launch, MelodicWarrior says that the AMD Ryzen 5 9600X3D might hit the DIY segment between the end of Q3 and the beginning of Q4 but will be available with SIs first. AMD also has the Ryzen 7 9700F CPU launching soon, which we reported here, so a lot of Zen 5 action is headed to the AM5 platform soon.
