With the fast pace of today’s smartphone world, we often get to hear about mobile flagship successors well before their launches as companies make plans well into the future. Google had a good year in 2015 with its Nexus lineup of smartphones, with the company launching two well designed and executed smartphones in the form of the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P. But as mentioned above, things move too fast and we’ve already started to hear about Google’s plans for the next Nexus devices.

HTC To Manufacture 2016 Nexus Devices For Google Claim Sources

While 2015 might have been a bad year for HTC, things seem to be shaping up quite nicely for the Taiwanese manufacturer as we get to sink in 2016. Sources have started to speak up on the HTC One M10, which is most likely to be launched with two processor variants this year and now; looks like HTC might be back in play with Google for this year’s Nexus lineup.

According to various sources, Google has contacted HTC for its Nexus lineup though other details about the collaboration between the two companies are not available as of yet. Given the general trend in the smartphone world, we should also expect two devices this year from Google in the Nexus lineup; one for those who prefer serious performance specifications while the other for those requiring an all round experience.

After all, the software giant’s partnership with Huawei helped the Chinese manufacturer gain quite a bit of credibility, especially in American markets, which had been quite unresponsive to its products in the past. The Nexus 6P is a well designed product offering all the features that any power user can demand, and HTC’s performance here should be expected to improve quite a bit.

Google Reported to Sell 3 Million Pixel Devices by the End of 2016

So lets hope the rumors turn out to be true and we get to see Nexus smartphones from HTC’s end this year. The Taiwanese manufacturer has got quite a unique approach towards design and manages to churn out some impressive handsets each year. Things should become more clear in the coming months. Till then, stay tuned and let us know what you think in the comments section below.
