Earlier this week, Capcom finally confirmed, after a few leaks, that Dead Rising 4 is indeed in the works for Xbox One and PC. From the announcement, it seems like Dead Rising 4 is going to be a Microsoft exclusive like Dead Rising 3, but it seems like that’s not exactly the case.

A few hours ago, the Capcom Vancouver Twitter profile has been asked about the Dead Rising 4 exclusivity, with the rep behind the account confirming that it will be possible to play Dead Rising 4 “first” on Xbox One and PC.

In a later statement, Microsoft elaborated further on the matter, confirming that Dead Rising 4 will not only be a 1 year exclusive release on PC and Xbox One, but also a 90 days WIndows 10 exclusive, meaning that it will hit Steam 3 months after release.

Dead Rising 4′ on Xbox One is developed by Capcom and will be published in partnership with Microsoft. Fans will be able to play ‘Dead Rising 4’ first on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC this December. It will remain a Windows 10 exclusive for the first 90 days and console exclusive on Xbox One for one year. We’ve had a close and longstanding relationship with Capcom including the launch of Dead Rising as an Xbox 360 exclusive and Dead Rising 3 as an Xbox One exclusive. We’re thrilled to partner with Capcom once again to help bring their ambitious vision for Dead Rising 4 to life.

Earlier this week, the Dead Rising 4 release date has also emerged online thanks to the Xbox Store. According to the game’s page on the store, the new game from Capcom Vancouver will be released on December 6th, a release date that fits in the Holiday 2016 window announced during the Microsoft E3 2016 conference.

Dead Rising 4 will be set before the first entry of the series, and it will star Frank West again as he deals with a horde of zombies with the most varied arsenal ever.

Additionally, several fan-favorite Dead Rising features return, including the ability to combine hundreds of weapons and vehicles to combat the horde – ranging from the practical, to the practically insane. Frank also gets access to all-new EXO Suits, giving him super-strength and incredible firepower, as well as the ability to rip down objects in the world to use as weapons. From giant pipes to parking meters, the world is filled implements of mass zombie destruction.
We’re also bringing fans a new approach to multiplayer, allowing you to play together with four friends to complete missions and conquer the zombie-infested Willamette Memorial Megaplex. Or you can use quick match to join a game in progress with players around the world.

Dead Rising 4 launches later this year on PC and Xbox One.
